«Moors and Christians Festivities 2026: General Procession»

At the General Procession the relic and the equestrian statue of Saint George will be returned to their church.

ITINERARY

The festers and devotees will gather in the Placeta del Carbó, proceed up Pintor Casanova Street (Calle Major), where the clergy, the relic, and the authorities will join them, continuing through Plaça d’Espanya, Sant Nicolau, Plaza de Ramón y Cajal, Sant Francesc, Mossèn Torregrosa, l’Escola, and Sant Tomàs, all the way to the church of Saint George.

Heralds, Devotees, Festers with candles and children, Llana, Judíos, Domingo Miques, Chano, Verdes, Magenta, Cordón, Ligeros, Mudéjares, Abencerrajes, Berberiscos, Benimerines, Cides, Labradores, Guzmanes, Vascos, Mozárabes, Almogávares, Navarros, Tomasinas, Muntanyesos, Cruzados, Alcodianos, Aragonesos, Moorish Captain and Marrakesh, Moorish Alférez and Realistes, Christian Captain and Andaluces, Christian Alférez and Asturianos.

Closing of the procession: General Assembly of the Association of Saint George with flag, Sant Jordiet (Primers Trons, Mayorales, honorary members, and Board of Directors), image of Saint George, relic of the saint, reverend clergy, and authorities, accompanied by the Música Primitiva Apolo d’Alcoi and the Unió Musical d’Alcoi.
